Springfield Man Crashes Head-On Into A Police Cruiser

On Saturday morning around 2:00 a.m. while on patrol in the downtown area of Springfield, officers observed a vehicle crash into another vehicle in the area of Main and Washington Streets.

The driver who has been identified as Robert Isaac, 24, of Springfield then accelerated and struck a police cruiser head on.

Isaac was arrested and taken to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries. While at the hospital, Isaac assaulted one nurse and threatened another nurse.

After being released from the hospital Isaac was taken to booking and he was charged with OUI (liquor), OUI (drugs) 2cts, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, threat to commit a crime and A&B.
