Man Charged With Enticing A Minor In Quincy, Released On $1,000 Bail

On Monday night 20-year-old Benjamin Chen who was wanted by Quincy Police, was taken into custody after turning himself in.

Chen is charged with enticing a minor, accosting a person of the opposite sex, and soliciting sex for a fee.

Last Thursday, January 9, around 4:30 p.m. Quincy Police were informed that on Coddington St. a man approached girl and made inappropriate remarks through the window of his car. That male then drove off in an older model, gray, four-door car with scratches.

On Friday, January 9, Quincy Police were informed by another girl that a man with a similar description from Thursday also approached her on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. on Taffrail Road. The girl also informed Quincy Police that the same man approached her in the same area on Saturday, January 4. In that incident, the male made inappropriate comments to her, exited his vehicle and then ran towards her and her friends.

On Monday Quincy Police put out an alert for Chen who saw himself on TV and then turned himself in.

During his arraignment Tuesday, a judge released Chen on $1,000 bail with the conditions that he be fitted for a GPS bracelet, stay away from schools, the YMCA, all city parks, and his accusers.
