Boston Police Investigating Friday Morning Shooting At Brigham and Women’s Hospital

On Friday morning around 9:30 a.m., Boston Police responded to the area of 60 Fenwood Road for a report of a shooting.

The victim was a 49-year-old male who worked as a valet at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. As of Friday afternoon he was in stable but critical condition.

The suspect who has been identified as 41-year-old Juston Root of Mattapan, fled the area however police did shoot Root before he was able to make it to a vehicle and flee.

In an attempt to evade police, Root hit multiple vehicles until he finally crashed in Brookline at the intersection of Hammond Street and Route 9.

Eventually officers shot Root and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

State Police and Boston police are continuing investigate the incident.
