Boston Police Arrest Suspect Who Shot At Officers

On Saturday afternoon around 2:13 p.m., officers with the Boston Police Department assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a report of a man with a gun threatening people in the area of 134 Northampton Street.

Upon arrival officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect and as they approached that individual to speak with him he refused to speak with them and started running away from the officers.

The suspect ran down Mass Ave towards Chester Park and while doing so he began shooting at the officers. While the officers returned fire, the suspect continued shooting at the officers until his weapon was out of ammunition. After a violent struggle with officers, the suspect was taken into custody.

The suspect has been identified as Tyler Brown, 40, of Boston and he has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of Residence/Dwelling, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm and Feeding Device.
