A Columbus, Ohio homicide suspect who has been a fugitive on the run since January, was arrested Wednesday morning in Fall River.
On Saturday, January 4, at about 1:42 a.m. Columbus Police responded to T.K.’s Sports Bar at 3505 Parsons Ave. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located Joseph Edward Fisher laying on the ground and suffering from a gunshot wound. Fisher was taken to Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
During an initial investigation Columbus Police learned that Troy D. Capers II had been involved in an altercation with patrons of the bar and then he left but returned to the bar with a firearm, shot Fisher and then fled the area.
The following day a warrant was issued for Capers for one count of murder and he has been a fugitive from justice since that warrant was issued.
US Marshals in Ohio learned that Capers was in Massachusetts and with the assistance of the US Marshals in Boston and the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, Capers was arrested on Wednesday morning just after 6 a.m. at 19 Cook St. in Fall River.
