Just after 11 p.m. Monday night officers with the Boston Police Department assigned to District B-3 responded to a shot detection in the area of 28 Wilcock Street.
Upon arrival officers located ballistic evidence and recovered a firearm in the area of Wilcock Street and Johnston Road.
Officers observed a vehicle traveling from Johnston Road onto Harvard Street in the wrong direction and attempted to do a check of the vehicle however because the plate was covered with tint, officers could not read the plate.
When officers attempted to stop the vehicle the driver refused to pull over. Officers pursued the vehicle to the parking lot of the Walgreens at 825 Morton Street. While in pursuit of the vehicle a firearm was thrown from the vehicle in the area of 35 Stratton Street.
From the vehicle, officers recovered a firearm with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine.
Officers identified the occupants of the vehicle as Jermaine Gillespie, 26, of Randolph, Samuel Jennite, 30, of Roxbury and Ray Roe, 27, of Mattapan.
All three males were taken into custody and charged with Carrying a Firearm without a License, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Discharge of a Firearm within 500 feet of a Building, Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
