On Tuesday afternoon around 1 p.m. officers with the Worcester Police responded to the area of 293 Pleasant St. for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival officers did not locate a victim.
Officers were able to obtain information about a suspect who eventually was located in the area of Park Ave and Highland Street. When additional officers arrived in the area the vehicle that the suspect was in was pulled over however the suspect then ran from officers.
A K9 was used to search the area and apprehend the suspect. Because the suspect was bitten by the K9 he was transported to an area hospital and because he is a juvenile, Worcester Police notified his mother.
The suspect, 17, has been charged with Armed Assault to Murder, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Use of a Firearm in a Felony, Resisting Arrest, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Possession of Class D with Intent to Distribute, and an outstanding warrant.
