On Saturday night around 8:10 p.m. officers with the Boston Police Department assigned to C-11, responded to the area of 56 Dunbar Ave for a report of a person with a gun.
While responding to the call, officers were informed of the description of the suspect. Officers were also advised that the suspect threatened to shoot the caller.
In the area of Walton Street, an officer observed a male matching the description that had been given. The officer monitored the male as he was standing with a group of other males.
The suspect noticed the officer and began to walk away. The officer with other officers approached the group of males at which time the suspect grabbed an item in his sweatshirt pocket.
As officers observed the male reaching for his sweatshirt pocket, they noticed that the suspect was reaching for a firearm.
The suspect was given verbal commands to which he followed and he was taken into custody.
The suspect who was a 14-year-old male of Dorchester, was charged with Delinquent to wit: Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
