Early Monday morning at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers with the Boston Police Department assigned to District B-3 Anti-Crime Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of 387 Talbot Ave in Dorchester.
As the officers activated their lights and sirens, they observed the rear passenger, Jose Vega-Aponte, 32, of Boston who was wearing a fanny pack across his chest, quickly exit the vehicle and attempt to flee.
Officers were able to apprehended Vega-Aponte and perform a pat frisk on the fanny pack at which time they recovered loaded firearm with seven rounds in the magazine.
Vega-Aponte was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm and carrying a loaded firearm without a license.
