State Police Arrest Man In Brockton With Loaded Firearm And Narcotics

Earlier tonight at approximately 8:00 p.mTroopers assigned to the State Police Troop D Community Action Team while on patrol in Brockton observed a vehicle with defective brake lights traveling in the area of Battles Street where troopers initiated a motor vehicle stop.

Troopers approached the vehicle which was occupied by three individuals. While having a conversation with the occupants of the vehicle, troopers observed a passenger in the front seat was not wearing their seatbelt.

Troopers attempted to identify this passenger, however, they were provided false information. The passenger was removed from the vehicle and questioned. While questioning the passenger Troopers discovered he was in possession of a loaded firearm. 

Eventually this individual was identified as Tyreece Depina, 19, of Brockton and did not have an LTC. Additionally, troopers searched a cross strap fanny pack in Depina’s possession and they recovered a second loaded firearm, numerous rounds of ammunition, and a small baggie containing a substance suspected to be crack cocaine. 

Depina was arrested, transported to the Middleboro State Police Barracks for booking and was later released after posting a $500 bail.

Depina has been charged with Illegal Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without FID Card, Possession of Ammunition without FID Card, Possession of a Class B Substance, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Receiving Stolen Property.
