
On Thursday, March 31, 2022 Worcester Police arrested John P. Lang, 40, of Northbridge, Massachusetts. Lang was charged with Drug, Possession To Distribute Class B, Failure to Stop For Police and Fail to Stop/Yield.
Lang was arraigned in Worcester District Court on Friday, May 1st.
On March 31, 2022 at approximately 12:55 PM an officer with the Worcester Police Department assigned to the Neighborhood Response Team observed what they believed to be a street level drug transaction in the area of King St at Shepard St.
The individual that was observed purchasing illegal narcotics was operating a red Landrover Discovery and was identified as Lang.
The officer did a check of the vehicle registration which came back to a 2002 green Toyota 4Runner registered to Lang.
The officer stopped Lang in the area of Mt Pleasant St at Benefit St and as the officer approached the vehicle they observed Lang appearing to be manipulating something on his lap. The officer pulled up alongside Lang in their clearly marked Worcester Police Cruiser with their overhead emergency lights activated.
LANG looked up at the officer who asked Lang to roll down his window as well as knocked on his door. Lang put his vehicle in drive and then fled from the officer.
The officer notified other officers from the Neighborhood Response Team who responded to the area. notified other NRT officers in the area and eventually he was stopped in the area of Glenwood St at Hammond St.
Lang was given verbal commands by officers to exit his vehicle, he complied and was taken into custody.
During a search of Lang’s officers seized 30 suboxone strips in two different pants pockets. Lang was additionally charged with Possession with Intent of a Class B substance (suboxone).
Officer’s also recovered an empty uncapped needle from the center console of Lang’s vehicle.
