Just before 11:00 PM Wednesday night Boston Police arrested Edwyn Shoemaker, 31, of Mattapan. While officers were on a directed patrol in the area of Columbia Road they observed a motorcycle make an abrupt turn in front of their cruiser and then turn onto Mount Everett Street.
Officers followed the motorcycle onto Mount Everett Street and observed Shoemaker, standing in a nearby yard with his back to the street and adjusting his waistband. Officers also observed Shoemaker’s motorcycle parked partially obstructing a fire hydrant.
Officers made additional observations that led them to believe Shoemaker was in possession of a firearm so officers conducted a pat-frisk of Shoemaker and recovered a loaded firearm.
Shoemaker was placed into custody without incident and charged with Unlawful Possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a public way, and Trespassing with a firearm.
