
Jeffrys Feliciano Santana, 25, of Philadelphia and Herman Gomez, 50, of Philadelphia were both arrested today in Springfield. Santana has been charged with trafficking in cocaine greater than 200 grams and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Gomez has been charged with trafficking in cocaine greater than 200 grams, possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute, and conspiracy to violate narcotic laws.
Massachusetts State Police received information that two individuals from Philadelphia were transporting a large quantity of cocaine into Springfield for distribution. A follow-up investigation led troopers to a vehicle parked on Chestnut Street in Springfield.
Troopers with assistance from the Springfield Police Department and the DEA seized more than 1.5 kilos of suspected cocaine and arrested the two occupants of the vehicle (Santana and Gomez). The approximate weight of the recovered cocaine was 1,683 grams, packaged as a one kilogram brick and another shrink-wrapped package of slightly more than half a kilo. The whole kilogram was packaged in a wrapping stamped “COVID.”
