Member Of Gangster Disciple Street Gang Sentenced To Five Years

Wednesday, at the United States District Court in Boston, U.S. District Court Judge Leo T. Sorokin sentenced Manuel Roderick, 44, of Auburn, Maine to five years in prison and four years of supervised release. 

Roderick, a member of the Gangster Disciple street gang previously pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl.

In March 2021, Roderick was arrested after he was observed meeting with Justin Suriel, the alleged leader of the Gangster Disciples street gang operating in the greater Lawrence area. It was believed that this meeting was for a drug transaction and following the meeting police conducted a traffic stop at which time they seized 107 grams of powdered fentanyl in a large plastic bag from Roderick’s vehicle. Roderick admitted to law enforcement that he bought narcotics from Suriel and was a Gangster Disciple gang member.
