On Thursday in the U.S. District Court in Boston, U.S. Senior District Court Judge Rya W. Zobel sentenced Derek Southworth, 34, of Fitchburg to time served (approximately 15 days in prison).
On Feb. 8, 2022, Southworth, an associate of the Massachusetts Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
On April 18, 2017, Southworth provided an AK-47 style rifle and approximately 49 rounds of ammunition to a cooperating witness. The transaction was captured on audio-video recording. Due to a prior conviction, Southworth is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
