At about 9:44 PM, Officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle that they determined had plates which did not belong to that vehicle.

Graham-Gilliam was the operator of the vehicle. When officers approached the vehicle they requested identification from Graham-Gilliam however he was unable to provide identification to officers. Graham-Gilliam provided a name and date of birth to officers that was false.

Graham-Gilliam and a passenger were asked to exit the vehicle; Graham-Gilliam attempted to shield his body away from Officers and reached into his sweatshirt multiple times.

After repeated verbal commands from Officers to stop reaching, Officers conducted a pat frisk and recovered Smith & Wesson M&P Shield.380 caliber handgun with six rounds in the magazine and one live round in the chamber. A CJIS query of the firearm’s serial number revealed it was stolen out of Boston.
