
On Saturday, February 25, 2023, Worcester Police arrested Jose Alvarez, 55, of Worcester. Alvarez is charged with distribution Class B drug subsequent offense.
Around 10:45 a.m. on the above date, members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad were conducting a drug investigation in the Main South section of the city.
An undercover officer made contact with Alverez and purchased crack cocaine from him.
Other officers in the area were advised of the purchase of narcotics by the UC and that there was probable cause to arrest Alverez. Officers were also advised that Alverez was in the parking lot of 702 Southbridge Street, and this is where he was taken into custody.
Alvarez, at the time of his arrest, was out on bail on three open cases out of Worcester District Court.
In the first open case, Alverez was arrested by Worcester Police and charged with Possession of Class B Drug Subsequent Offense.
In the second case, Alverez was arrested by Worcester Police and is charged with assault and battery with dangerous weapons, a threat to commit a crime and assault and a battery on family / household member.
In the third open case, Alvarez was arrested by Millbury Police and is charged with conspiracy and Shoplifting by Asportation.
In July 2019, Alvarez was charged with possession to distribute Class A drug. The charge was amended to possession of class A drug, and in November 2019, Alvarez pleaded guilty and was committed to one year to the Worcester County House of Correction.
In January 2018, Alvarez was charged with kidnapping, A&B, and A&B with a dangerous weapon. On May 18, 2018, he pleaded guilty and was committed to the Worcester County House of Correction.
