On April 23rd, police in Chelsea, Massachusetts responded to a shooting in the area of Washington Ave around 1:00 PM. The victim, a 68-year-old woman, was shot while getting into her vehicle. She attempted to drive herself to an area hospital but eventually she was taken by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital.
As the result of their Investigation Chelsea Police Department determined that the suspect in this shooting incident was Jefferson Barrillas, 18, of Lynn and he was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Malden by the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Section.
Barrillas is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Chelsea District Court on armed assault to murder and other charges.
